Hands Wide Open saying, "Thy Will Be Done"

I find that when I remember more how fleeting this life is, the less I care as much about what happens to me in my time here. I remember that we were never promised a painless life or that we would get what we want from this world, but we are given the promise of NEW life and that one day we will be with Jesus in Heaven forever. So we have to hold our hands open and accept whatever God chooses to give. Accept who we are, accept those around us, accept the things that bring us joy, accept the things that cause frustration, accept the losses (both physically and relationally), accept the singleness, accept the job that we aren't that crazy about, accept the weather, and accept that life is not about us. We may not always understand but we can trust that things will not always be this way and we can find hope in all things because of Jesus' life sacrificed for us so that we could have this hope. Through Christ's power, we can seek to glorify God in all things, whereever we are, whether we are "living in plenty or in want" (Philippians 4:12). We can seek to glorify God in whatever we are facing because at the end of the day it does not matter what we get out of life, what matters is that God was glorified in our lives.

"The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever" (1 John 1:17)
