Those Are Lies, These Are Truths
Hey ladies,
This post is for you! While I was taking some time during my devotionals today I was reminded of some truths that I think we need to remember every day. Actually if you're not a lady and your reading this, keep reading cause there's still good truths that can apply to you too.
As girls and women, we really struggle with insecurity and easily give into the lies that we are not good enough, not accepted, not precious or not wanted. We daily compare ourselves to the girls and women around us and then try to make ourselves "better than so and so" or "like so and so" in hopes that if we become like this person or that person that will increase our value. Remember all these are LIES they are NOT TRUE. And Satan just loves to use these lies to build a gap in between us and God. But God wants you to see yourself how He sees You.
Here are some TRUTHS for you to let sink in your heart today:
YOU ARE ACCEPTED
"Accept one another, then just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God"
-Romans 15:7 (NIV)
YOU ARE HIS CHILD (He is a King so that makes you a princess:) )
"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God"
-John 1:12 (NIV)
Since you are a princess, you should expect to be treated like one. A.K.A. Respect. Don't let any one mistreat or disrespect you, stick up for yourself and if someone isn't respecting you that DOESN'T determine your worth. Your worth is not found in how others treat you.
YOU ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body"
-1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV)
GOD IS YOUR ADEQUACY
"Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God"
-2 Corinthians 3:5 (NIV)
YOU HAVE A PURPOSE
"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do"
-Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
God DOES have a purpose for you! Even in the difficult times or the times when you feel like you aren't good for anything, or the times that you just have no idea what's ahead and you find yourself frustrated. Keep going and seeking God, He DOES have a purpose for you!
YOU ARE MADE COMPLETE IN CHRIST
"and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is head over every power and authority"
-Colossians 2:10 (NIV)
Christ has made you complete. You don't need the ideal job to complete you, you don't need kids to complete you, and the biggest thing a majority of us wrestle with is that you don't need a young man or man to complete you. You are equally COMPLETE with or without a boyfriend or husband. Never forget that.
I hope these truths have brought you some encouragment today. Write them down somewhere, memorize them and be on your guard for lies. Use these truths to fight the lies that Satan will throw at you. And hold them in your heart.
