A Mid-Week Pep Talk

Dear You,
Maybe lately you’ve been listening to the nagging voice in your head. The one that says you screwed up earlier this week. The one that says “why are you still struggling with this, what’s wrong with you? Aren’t you supposed to be a Christian?” Or maybe it’s a voice of doubts that rings louder in your ear. The one that says “you can’t handle this”, “you aren’t worthy enough to talk to him or her”. Maybe it’s a different kind of voice one that says, “you are the greatest” and “you can do anything you want to, you don’t need anyone else.” Either way I want you to take some time to tune these voices out and read the next couple of verses.
I’m not going to tell you what you should think. I’m going to let you read them and think through them. You know how they will impact you and you know what you need to do with them. If after you need to journal, walk or pray-it's whatever's best for you and is most refreshing.

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless , Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved from his life! Not only this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have received reconciliation” –Romans 5:8

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure” –1 John 3: 1-3

“This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.” -1 John 13-16

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”-1 Peter 5: 8-10
